MAGNETOTELLURIC SURVEYS
MT magnetotelluric method is a surface geophysical technique that uses measurements of the natural variable electromagnetic field on the Earth's surface, in order to delineate the distribution of resistivity of the subsurface structures. We recommend MT survey for hydrocarbon exploration as complementary method to regional seismic for tracing layers the identification of which by means of seismic method is insufficient. MT method is particularly useful in areas with complex geological structure. MT measurements are recommend s at every stage of exploration project starting from initial recognition up to documentation of mineral deposits. MT survey consist of measurement with the use of geo-electric techniques with a range exceeding several hundred meters in depth, however depth limits between shallow, mid and deep methods are not strictly defined and depends on geological conditions and targets.
Our services include MT, A-MT and CSAMT techniques; MT, A-MT uses measurements of natural variations of electromagnetic field, while in CSAMT variant an artificial electromagnetic field inductive or galvanic-induced in the geological medium is used.
