SHALLOW SEISMIC SURVEY
Non-invasive shallow seismic surveys are applied to civil engineering and environmental investigation. Surveys consists in recording and analysis of artificially generated seismic (acoustic) waves; the non-destructive energy source for shallow seismic is i.e. a seismic hammer.
Seismic waves, reflected in underground structures are registered by the geophones located on the surface. The course and the time of wave propagation and their deformations depend on the mechanical properties of the geological center connected with lithology, degree of density or the degree of destruction of the original structure.
